Lipstick Palm Tree

 

Scientific Name: Cyrtostachys renda

 

AKA: Sealing Wax Palm, Rajah Palm, Red Sealing Wax Palm.

 

Appearance: The Lipstick Palm has smooth and slender trunks that are orange to bright red. It has feather-like,dark green leaves that grow upwards. Grows in clusters up to around 20 feet tall, yet some have been recorded over 50 feet tall.  

 

Growing: Tricky to grow, the sealing wax palm needs high humidity, a lot of water, and is not tolerant of drought or wind. It is definitely a collector's palm and is one of the most beautiful and sought-after palms in the world. Partial shade to full sun.
